Introducing Hemmingson Senior Living at The Trails in Coeur d'Alene

Valeri Zaharie, a seasoned retirement home administrator, has partnered with business magnate and philanthropist John Hemmingson to create Hemmingson Senior Living at The Trails, a new 100-resident senior community in Coeur d'Alene's Coeur Terre neighborhood. Set to open in 2027, this thoughtfully designed community at 4750 W. Breslin Circle will offer both independent and assisted living options, featuring five single-story assisted living buildings for up to 80 residents and 20 independent senior cottages. With construction underway, the first 16-unit assisted living building, complete with administrative offices and the Willow Stream Salon & Spa, is expected to be completed within 11 months, with the full community finished by mid-2027.

Designed by Todd Butler of Forte' Architecture & Planning Inc., Hemmingson Senior Living prioritizes resident comfort with a light, bright atmosphere, tall ceilings, and a unique figure-eight pathway system to support memory care residents. The community will feature modern amenities like The Retreat—a community center with a gym, coffee and wine bar, billiards room, and library lounge—alongside outdoor spaces with pickleball courts, a fire pit, and a barbecue area. With daily wellness checks, dining, housekeeping, and proximity to the Centennial Trail, this community is crafted to foster active, connected, and comfortable living for seniors, marking the first step in an ambitious regional expansion plan.
