Liberty Lake, WA
SCOPE: Pedestrian Safety, Outdoor Courtyards, Water Conservation, Planting, and High-Efficiency Irrigation
DESCRIPTION: In response to the organizations continued growth and success, STCU’s Liberty Lake headquarters was renovated to provide efficient space reallocation that focused on security, and maximization of existing infrastructure. The campus vehicular circulation was completely re-organized to provide more efficient visitor experiences as well as offer additional parking for employees and operations use. Columnar basalt was introduced as a landscape element throughout the campus as a means to introduce indigenous materials from the environment to the building, a major goal of the project architect. Resource conservation was a driving factor in this landscape architecture effort to convert outdated, inefficient irrigation to modern standards. Central control, remote access control, sensors, and system monitors were designed into the retrofit of this system, saving millions of gallons of water a year.
